Specialist Furniture for Communication Interaction & Education. Designed to provide a stimulating, safe, secure, durable and flexible learning environment.

Seeking to Stimulate

An overriding principal in every special needs interior design is that students and teachers must be provided with a compelling, stimulating, safe, secure, durable and flexible learning environment.

Some rooms will be subject specific and areas like science, design, control, information and food technology will have requirements particular to those subjects, whilst others will be multi-use cross curricula.

Inspiring Learning Environments

The room designs shown are examples of the sort of contemporary designs developed with all of the above objectives at the core.

S+B provide a full no obligation free consultation and quoting service. We will meet with school representatives to discuss prime objectives, school ethos and particular needs. Once the brief has been taken, S+B can produce a range of costed options with 3D drawings for consideration before a decision is made on design and specification.

Through innovative teamwork with our clients we aim to create and build stimulating environments that empower staff and carers to impart knowledge, understanding and good practice, in all settings in which the children, young people and adults with sensory impairments are based.

“The culture, practice, management and deployment of resources in a school or setting are designed to ensure all children’s needs are met.” SEN Code of Practice, 2001

Quality Counts

“The most important factor in determining the best outcomes for pupils with learning difficulties and disabilities is not the type but the quality of the provision.” OFSTED, 2006

“Alongside effective management and the school ethos, the learning environment can help prevent some special educational needs arising, and minimise others.” SEN Code of Practice, 2001

Special Educational Needs are very wide ranging and there will be a requirement in some classrooms for adjustable height workstations, some will require individual study booths with sound attenuation and others may require heavy duty furniture and fitments.

We work closely with our clients to provide bespoke solutions for all their needs.
